COBBLED CUSHION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

STEP ONE

1.1    Begin installation by locating where

the outside edge of the cushion is   going to be placed and mark a chalk line approximately 3.0m long.

1.2  Next measure in 0.53m from the

first chalk line and mark a parallel

line. This line locates the first anchor

plate.

STEP TWO

2.1    Lay the long outside edge of the anchor plate down on the second chalk line.

The side with the shorter threaded post must be facing towards the first chalk line

(Fig.2).

2.2    If the drill is equipped with a depth gauge, set it for a depth of 150mm. If not so

equipped, measure 150mm-175mm from the tip of the 19mm masonry bit, and

mark this location with tape (Fig.3).

2.3     Using the anchor plate as a guide, drill the first two holes on each end of the anchor plate 150mm deep (Fig.4). Remove any debris with the hole cleaner, and drop a lag bolt into the holes to check the depth. Temporarily leave the bolts in the holes to ensure proper alignment of the holes yet to be drilled.

2.4     Drill all the remaining holes on the anchor plate.

STEP 3

3.1     Using separate stirrers to avoid activating the resin, stir each individual can of “A” and “B” resin thoroughly.

3.2     Pour equal parts of “A” and “B” in a paper cup and thoroughly stir the contents.

3.3     Remove the bolts used for alignment, and fill each hole, ¾ full of the mixed resin. As each hole is filled, push the lag bolts into the resin and seat the bolt firmly down on the anchor plate. If the proper amount of resin is utilized, a small amount should ooze out onto the anchor plate. On a warm day the resin will set in 5 minutes.

STEP 4

4.1     Place two opposing centre ramps onto the anchor plate, in order that the tall threaded post is between the two sections. Do not fasten to the anchor plate.

4.2     Lift the opposite side of the two centre ramps just installed and slide the second anchor plate under them, leaving the wing with the short threaded post exposed (Fig 5).

4.3     Drill all exposed holes, remove debris, fill with resin, and install bolts as above. Allow the resin to set.

4.4     Lift off the two centre ramps and drill all the newly exposed holes, remove debris, fill with resin, and install bolts. Allow the resin to set.

STEP 5

5.1     Replace the two centre sections. Install the two right and two left hand ramps down on the anchor plates (Fig.6). These ramp sections are designed to fit tightly together, and may require modest force to facilitate the fit. If additional

movement is required, a sledgehammer may be used to tap gently on the ramp sections (Fig 7).

5.2     Place the anchor clamps in the cavities on the surface of the Cobbled Cushion. Proper alignment over the threaded nuts is typical. If necessary to obtain a proper fit, use a utility knife and cut the rubber away until a proper fit is achieved (Figs 8 and 9).

5.3     Coat the threads on the 9.5mm flat head socket screws with loctite or other thread locker. Insert the screw through

the anchor clamp and onto the threaded post and firmly tighten down (Figs 10 and

11) with an Allen Key.
